My Goals
My goals here at Salt Lake Community College are quite simple, succeed. With limited vocational schooling, I have been able to sustain myself as an auto technician for the past 20 years. I obtained my California State Smog license in 1992. I moved to Utah in 1999 and earned a Utah County Emissions License and Utah State Safety license. The last 9 years I have specialized in the automotive electrical field at Orem Auto Electric. I now have the opportunity to continue my education. My major is Aviation Maintenance Technology. A short term goal of mine is to earn an A.A.S degree from SLCC and an A&P license from the FAA. A long term goal of mine is to work on airplanes during the week and build hotrods with my sons Joshua and Aaron.
It is amazing what can happen in a year and a half. I have received an FAA Airmen Mechanic Lisence with an Airframe rating and hope to have a Powerplant rating here in a couple of months. I have done well enough in my studies that I have decided to continue on for two more semesters. I want to earn an A.S. degree and than transfer to Utah Valley University to earn a Bachelors degree in Technology Management. I seem to possess hidden talents and I am interested in seeing where they may take me. I still want to build hotrods with my sons. That will never change.
